WHAT IS AROMATHERAPY? HOW DOES IT WORK?

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils to promote health and well-being. Essential oils are composed of hundreds of different constituents. It's the combination and amount of constituents that determine the properties of the essential oil. These oils can be applied topically or through inhalation. Used topically, the oils are absorbed into your skin and enter your bloodstream. When inhaled, the essential oils travel from the olfactory nerves straight to the brain.

IS AROMATHERAPY FOR ME?​

Most people seek an aromatherapist when their doctor can't help them, their treatment doesn't fully relieve their symptoms or their looking for a natural alternative. Aromatherapy can help with many conditions; stress, anxiety and sleep being the most common. However, aromatherapy can also help with skin, digestive, respiratory, menstrual, muscular, circulatory, lymphatic, excretory, endocrine, neurological, skeletal, nervous and immune conditions.

IS THE AROMATHERAPIST QUALIFIED?

Deena Peters completed a 600 hour advanced aromatherapy certification program in 2020 and is a Certified Aromatherapist.

AROMATHERAPY CONSULTATIONS

An aromatherapy consultation is your first visit and involves completing some forms and then a discussion with the aromatherapist regarding current conditions, a medical background and medications. The aromatherapist works with you to find a blend that is both pleasant and convenient for you to use. The aromatherapist will look for the opportunity to use a holistic blend where possible as symptoms can be related.

After your appointment the aromatherapist may need to do some research on your condition or the essential oils that would be most beneficial. The aromatherapist will also ensure that the chosen oils are safe for you with no contraindications or risks with any medication or other conditions. 

Please bring a list of medications and a face mask with you. These appointments are 60 minutes and are $60 plus the cost of your blend.

FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENTS

After you have had an aromatherapy consultation, you may book a follow up appointment to discuss any changes to your symptoms or your blend. These appointments are 30 minutes and are $30 plus the cost of your blend (if applicable).

WHAT TYPE OF CUSTOMIZED BLEND WILL I GET? HOW MUCH IS IT?

The conditions we will be targeting determine the format of your blend. Blends can come in a diffuser blend, inhaler, lotion, diluted oil blend, spray, bath salts or rollerball. Most blends cost between $10 and $45 (plus shipping, if applicable) but it depends on the format and the essential oils used. 

If not available immediately, your blend can be picked up or shipped to you.

Please pay for your appointment at our store. You can pay for your blend at your appointment.

WHAT COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS ARE YOU TAKING?

Your health is our first priority. The aromatherapist will wear a mask and ask that you wear one until seated in the consultation room. Hand sanitizer is available and all high touch areas will be sanitized between clients. If you're not feeling well, have been out of the country, have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 or have any COVID-19 symptoms, please reschedule or cancel your appointment.

Payment is due at the time of booking. If payment is not received, your appointment may be cancelled.

Cancellation policy: Appointments cancelled less than 24 hours from the appointment time as well as no-shows will be subject to a 100% cancellation fee.


​DO YOU HOLD APPOINTMENTS BY VIDEO?

Although the best way for us to help you is through an appointment in person, we understand that this is not possible for those with mobility issues, for those living outside the Edmonton area or those who are isolating because of COVID-19. We are researching solutions and will implement an easy to use tool in the near future.
